KUANTAN: The Tenun Pahang Diraja, a type of woven silk fabric popular in Pahang, has recorded sales of RM1.35mil last year and efforts to expand the industry need to be stepped up, said the Tengku Mahkota of Pahang, Tengku Abdullah Sultan Ahmad Shah.
He said the first move would be to produce more contemporary designs, but at the same time, retain traditional and original traits to compete in the local and international market.
