Densely-populated Desa Mentari faces social ills

Imagine a family of 21 living in a small, cramped low-cost flat. This shocking revelation came to light when enumerators from the Statistics Department made their visits in Desa Mentari, Petaling Jaya, in the ongoing census exercise.

Desa Mentari has 13 blocks with 6,239 units built on a state-alienated land mainly to resettle the squatters from Kampung Lindungan, Kampung Medan Cahaya, Kampung Desa Hormat and SS8.
