State proud of club’s award

THE Pahang state government has presented a letter commendation to the Berjaya Hills Golf and Country Club for winning “The Best Highlands Golf course in Asia’’ by the Asia Pacific Brands Foundation (APBF) recently.

Pahang State Exco member Datuk Mohd Sharkar Shamsudin congratulated the club for winning the coveted award.

“We are indeed proud that Berjaya Hills Golf and Country Club has made history for the state by winning such a prestigious award.

“I believe this is the best award given to a golf club in Pahang. I have personally visited the club and seen the tremendous progress achieved there and the course is looking superb.

“I am even more pleased to see a lot of tourists golfing at Berjaya Hills Golf and Country Club. The cool weather and its prime location makes it a desirable destination for golfers,’’ said Mohd Sharkar.

Berjaya Hotels and Clubs executive director Valen Tan said they were honoured to receive the commendation letter from the Pahang government.

“We are further upgrading the golf course. It is our desire to be the best golf club in the country,’’ said Valen.

Berjaya Hills Golf and Country Club general manager S. A Nathan said they would be hosting the Bermaz Mazda Pahang Amateur Open as well as the Cosway Ladies Amateur Open golf championships this year.

“The course is in good condition. We are working on it to ensure all golfers will have fond memories of Berjaya Hills Golf and Country Club,’’ said Nathan.
