Chan, from Batu Gajah, serves home-style ban mee at his stall in Miri

NOTHING like mother’s home-cooked meals. This thought crossed Chan Keen Yeen’s mind when he decided to start a stall selling a Cantonese dish called ban mee four years ago.

His modest stall in a coffee shop at Pelita Commercial Centre in Miri is a favourite haunt for locals and Bruneian Chinese. He starts operating at 6.30am and closes by 3.30pm.
