100 comb sleepy hollow for heritage ‘treasures’

SOME 100 people took part in a fun-filled Heritage Walk Treasure Hunt in the sleepy town of Gopeng in Perak.

Organised by Gopeng Museum on Thursday, the par-ticipants huffed and puffed as they went around the town in search of 10 heritage sites.

Museum president Bernard Yew said it was heart- warming to see the participants, aged from 10 to 60, working together in their bid to win the contest.

“It was especially nice to see parents and their children running around and enjoying themselves during the hunt,” he said.

Yew said he was also glad to hear from those who did not win that they had fun spending quality time with their family members.

The contest was held in conjunction with the museum’s first anniversary and World Heritage Day, which fell on April 18.
