Bukit Tambun flood problem to end soon

BUKIT Tambun residents in Nibong Tebal numbering more than 8,000 can now sleep easier as RM1.8mil has been allocated for a flood mitigation project.

Penang Agriculture and Agro-based Industry, Rural Development and Flood Mitigation Committee chairman Law Choo Kiang said the area was always flooded because the tidal gate, built about 50 years ago, could not cope with the water capacity flowing from four rivers into the large drain.
