KUCHING: The first Sarawak Health and Wellness Expo will be held at Permata Exhibition Hall here from May 7 to 9 to complement Government efforts to promote health, wellness and a positive lifestyle.
Exhibitors are expected from the food and beverage industry (organic and natural food and beverage producers), health industry (nutrition, pharmaceutical, medical and research companies) and wellness industry (fitness services, water filtration and grooming).
Support organisations such as government and semi-government agencies, educational bodies and private institutions will also be featured at the expo.
Eagle Interactive Sdn Bhd is organising the expo in collaboration with the Sarawak Health Department while UCSI University is the supporting event partner and Parkway Group Healthcare the platinum sponsor.
Eagle Interactive chief executive officer Tiong Soon King said the expo was aimed at promoting Sarawak as an ideal destination for health activities.
Concurrent activities will include health and wellness seminars, blood donation drives, health-screening campaigns and fitness competitions.
Parkway Group, which owns three hospitals in Singapore and nine in peninsular Malaysia including the Pantai Group, will conduct a wide range of interactive activities at the expo.
Among them are games with prizes up for grabs, free talks and consultation by doctors, and promotion of healthcare packages at its Singapore hospitals.
