KUCHING: With an average of between 150 and 156 new kidney patients reported in Sarawak every year, there is a dire need for corporations to come forward and sponsor the operations of privately-run kidney dialysis centres, Deputy Chief Minister Tan Sri Dr George Chan said.
He said 97 new end-stage kidney patients per one million people in Sarawak, which has a population of 2.6 million, were detected annually.
