MALACCA: When the idea germinated for a multi-disciplinary art festival, the host venue was a no-brainer. That’s because two of the main masterminds behind the Malacca Art and Performance Festival (MAPFest) are sons of Malacca.
And the historical state is more than appropriate for this first site-specific art festival in South-East Asia. “Site-specific” refers to performances and artwork inspired by a venue. In this case, it is centred around A’Famosa, St Paul Hill and the riverside fort.
