PRIZES are still pouring in for Penang Starwalk 2009 although entries have closed.

Danai Spa, which is supporting the event for the third year, is contributing 200 vouchers for spa treatments worth a total of RM11,000 and three spa packages totalling RM470.

“We assure the winners they are going to love Danai Spa’s new modern contemporary spa concept coupled with the pampering and healing hands of our professional therapists,” Danai Spa marketing adviser Melvin Lim said.

He said Danai Spa, which recently opened its fifth outlet in Eastin Hotel, was proud to be associated with Starwalk and would gladly continue to do so in years to come.

Lim, who is also Neil Armayan Sdn Bhd marketing manager, said Neil Armayan was sponsoring more than RM55,000 worth of skincare and age reverse treatment vouchers for lucky Starwalkers.

“Neil Armayan is delighted to be given an opportunity to sponsor the sporting event where people from all walks of life congregate to have a great time whilst doing something healthy for the body and mind,” he said after handing over the vouchers from both companies to The Star’s senior advertisement representative Wong Mei Choo last Friday.

Meanwhile, Penang Bayview Beach Resort is sponsoring RM3,300 worth of hotel stay and buffet lunch vouchers.

Its general manager Edwin Yap said the resort was giving away three hotel stay vouchers — one each for a 2D/1N stay with breakfast in a Family Hillview Suite, a Deluxe Side Seaview room and a Superior Hillview room — and 10 Sunday Buffet Lunch vouchers.

“The healthy concept of Starwalk coincides with our in-house health programme. Fifteen of our hotel staff will take part in the walk. We will also send a team for the fancy dress competition,” he said before handing over the vouchers to The Star’s advertisement sales and accounts executive Michael Chong at The Star’s Jalan Mesjid Kapitan Keling office last Wednesday.

The Dec 13 walk, jointly organised by Star Publications (M) Bhd and the Penang Amateur Athletics Association, is divided into competi-tion and non-competition categories with both covering 10km.

Competition walkers will be flagged off at 7am by Yang di-Pertua Negri Tun Abdul Rahman Abbas from the Penang International Sports Arena while non-competition walkers will start from SMK Raja Tun Uda in Jalan Tengah at 7.30am.

The main sponsors of the walk are DiGi, Pallas, LG Electronics, Sunquick, Modenas, Milo, 100Plus, Eagle Brand, Eastin Hotel, Malta, Spritzer, Magnum and BreatheRight.
