NESTLE Malaysia hosted a charity breakfast for the National Stroke Association of Malaysia (Nasam) recently.
The Big Breakfast campaign was held to raise funds to facilitate Nasam training and rehabilitation programmes.
It was inspired by the Biggest Coffee Morning in the United Kingdom, where donations are made in exchange for meals.
Nasam’s inaugural charity breakfast took place at the Terrace, Curve shopping centre, Petaling Jaya from 8am to 11am.
For a minimum contribution of RM10, the public got to enjoy Maggi Tastylite noodle soup, fried Singaporean noodles, Maggi porridge, Fitness cereal with milk and fresh fruits, hot Nescafe, iced Milo and Nesvita 3-in-1 cereal drinks.
Guests were served by a group of volunteers from Nestle Malaysia’s Reaching Out to Community & Kids (Nestle Rocks) employee volunteer programme, who had prepared the food earlier.
Nestle (M) Bhd group corporate affairs and wellness director Tengku Marina Tunku Annuar Badlishah said it was a privilege to be able to support Nasam with their initiative.
She said the event enabled them to gain a win-win situation by raising funds for Nasam and promoting the importance of breakfast.
“We continue to nourish Malaysians with our commitment to health and well-being,” she said.
Nasam senior manager Margaret Chang said the breakfast idea came about after her trip to the UK.
“All the Nasam centres in the country will carry out the Charity Breakfast,” she said, adding that Nasam hoped to make the Charity Breakfast an annual event.
