A solution is being sought for two problems plaguing residents of Batu Maung, Penang - a 2km-long borrow pit filled with rubbish and polluted water and a bumpy bund road without street lights.
Batu Maung assemblyman Abdul Malik Abul Kassim said short-term measures had been taken to clean up the borrow pit and patch up potholes on the road but the issues needed to be solved once and for all.
