CHECK out Bangsar Village Hari Raya Bazaar this weekend.Shoppers can look for the Gadis Manis booth, Malaysian-based French designer Florence Lambert for handbags and T-shirts as well as other fashion booths like Innai, Jedan, Lamees, TriBeCa and Cengkih. Take a peek at the Lavand booth for the baklava pastries offerings. For those who crave more traditional treats, the Czar Trading booth has specially ordered home made cookies from Johor, with the butter cookies especially popular among customers. HEAD down to the Pavilion Kuala Lumpur to experience the festivities of Hari Raya this weekend. HEAD to the Annexe Gallery for the Eyes Wide Open photo exhibition presented by the 1st Singapore International Photography Festival (SIPF) this weekend. It features a selection of 120 works by 28 photographers from Africa, Asia and Europe. The selection comes from the inaugural SIPF held last year, which featured 900 images. The exhibition presents a wide-ranging kaleidoscope of unforgettable images from portrait to landscape, artistic and journalistic. Bharata Natyam

THE KSHETRA Academy is presenting Subashini Skantha Rajah in her Bharata Natyam dance debut, or Arangetram, today at Auditorium Tan Sri Dato’ K.R. Soma, Wisma Tun Sambanthanm, Kuala Lumpur. The programme will start at 7.30 pm. Subashini will present a traditional set of items, or ‘margam’, comprising Alarippu, Jatiswaram, Sabdam, Varnam, Padam, Kirtanam and Tillana. She will be accompanied by an orchestra helmed by her guru Apsara Ram Gopal, along with Ram Gopal Sivadas on the Mridangam (Indian drums), lead singer Preetha Prasad, Jayalakshmi Shekhar on the Violin, Dr. Radhakrishnan on the flute and Shanti Kanthaswamy on the Tambura. LAVANYA Arts at the Temple of Fine Arts is bringing a touch of contemporary elegance to Deepavali with Deepakalanjali- an offering of artistic luminosity. Specially chosen artefacts and craft from India are available for shoppers to prepare for the coming season. A traditional folk art workshop will also be conducted this weekend by Subhashini featuring Warli and Madhubani arts. The fee for the one hour workshop is RM25 per person while for both Warli and Madhubani, the fee is RM40 per person. Cooking workshops

THERE will be a cooking workshops held at the Cuisine Studio Restaurant in Tropicana Golf & Country Resort today. Blood donation

THE National Blood Centre will be having a blood drive tomorrow at several locations. Line dancing
