I HAD my first taste of Nasi Ulam when my cousin’s Thai wife prepared it for my family when we were back on a rare balik kampung trip.

The simple yet healthy dish was just the thing to balance the rich curries and meat we had stuffed ourselves with as we indulged in all the food that we had missed and craved for so much. I found the dish refreshing with its kasturi lime and variety of leaves.
