The temporary closure of nine nasi kandar outlets in the north-east district by the Penang Health Department this month should not be politicised as the department also shut down other food outlets in the state.
Penang Health, Welfare, Caring Society and Environment Com-mittee chairman Phee Boon Poh said the department was empowered to close any food pre-mises for sanitary purposes for one to 14 days if it scored below 70 points on its health checklist.
