JOHOR BARU: English should be made a compulsory subject in order to pass Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia but it is not necessary to conduct Mathematics and Science classes in English, a state assemblyman said.
Tahir Taat (BN-Bukit Serampang), the first speaker at the state assembly, said on Monday that he was not against English, but he disagreed with the language used to teach Maths and Science.
