KUCHING: The proposed RM2 billion Sungai Sarawak flood mitigation scheme to free Kuching city of floods and tidal surges is expected to be completed by the end of the 10th Malaysia Plan, the state assembly heard on Tuesday.
State Urban Development and Tourism Minister Datuk Michael Manyin said the project included the construction of a 2km flood diversion channel costing RM149 million which would divert flood waters from the Sungai Sarawak upper catchment to Sungai Salak.
