300 take part in ops to clear beach of illegal structures


THE Penang Government showed it meant business by removing some 60 abandoned illegal structures, shacks and boats along the Batu Ferringhi beach under Ops Sinar Batu Ferringhi.

State Local Government and Traffic Management Committee chairman Chow Kon Yeow said, since 6am last Thursday, a group of 300 enforcement officers, hoteliers, Village Security and Develop-ment Committee members and Batu Ferringhi entrepreneurs had cleaned the popular tourist attraction under a joint effort.
