EVERY parent wants their children to be successful. But, have you done everything you can to ensure that they are prepared with the skills, knowledge, and networks that can give them the extra mileage needed in life? Are your children equipped to be the great leaders of tomorrow?

This year, Leaderonomics Youth will be organising a series of Youth Leadership camps for young people aged 12 to 19 years old.

With the theme “Driving It Out, Doing the Extreme”, (DIODE), these camps are centered on building a solid leadership foundation to address pertinent issues in all the different stages in the life of a youth.

The Tweens Camp (Nov 22-25), which caters for those aged 12-14, serves as an entry level for youth to start learning about leadership.

It introduces leadership in the context of adjusting to new environments and dealing with peer pressure, so that kids will be better prepared for teenage-hood.

The Youth Leadership Camp (June 8-13, at Activat8 Training Centre, Kuala Linggi) will delve deep into the principles of leadership to strengthen the participants’ leadership qualities through practical challenges and projects. Designed for 14- to 17-year-olds, this camp will introduce them to key leaders from different fields, including CEOs, heads of leading NGOs, singers, and sportsmen, to broaden their scope and understanding of what makes a “leader”.

The School Leaver’s Camp (May 10-16, at El Sanctuary, Alor Gajah) is designed for those aged 17-19, when the most critical, formative stages of a person’s life begin.

Research has shown that values inculcated during this time are more inclined to stick for life.

Hence, it is crucial to harness and ground positive and constructive value systems during this window.

This camp will also focus on issues that youth face as they grow into young adults, such as making difficult choices that drive their career paths and learning to become more self-motivated.

The fee for the School Leaver’s Camp is RM699 and registration closes on 17 April.

Meanwhile, those who sign up for the Youth Leadership Camp before April 30 will enjoy an early bird rate of RM590; thereafter, the fee is RM699. Registration closes on May 15.
