PEKAN: The Culture, Arts and National Heritage Ministry has allocated RM9.5mil for the restoration and renovation works at Muzium Sultan Abu Bakar here.
State Culture, Arts, Tourism and Heritage Committee chairman Datuk Shafik Fauzan Sharif said the building was once the home of the British Resident and was used as a base for the Japanese army during the Japanese Occupation period from 1942 until 1945.
