KAMPUNG houses in Bukit Mertajam are being used by a pirated VCD syndicate in a move to avoid detection by enforcement autho-rities.
Police uncovered this latest strategy when they raided two kampung houses in Jalan Sama Gagah in Permatang Pauh on Thursday and seized 32,761 pira-ted DVDs, 6,870 pirated VCDs, 4,435 pornographic DVDs and 250,000 labels of various movie titles. The haul is worth a total of RM150,000.
