For several years, Hilary Chong has been frequenting The Chicken Rice Shop every day for lunch.
“The food here is quite tasty and just nice for my liking,” said the 79-year-old. And now she has one more reason to do so even more often with the new discount programme launched.
Chong was among the senior citizens who attended the launch event held at one of the chain’s outlet in The Gardens recently.
It was revealed that the Chicken Rice Shop is offering 20% discount off the total bill for senior citizens aged 60 and above on every Tuesday, except on public holidays.
All government employees as well as retired government servants are also able to enjoy a 10% discount off the total bill every day.
All they need to do is to present his or her MyKad or identity card, Government employment identification card or Government pensioners’ card. A privilege card will be presented to them.
“Our promotion is tailored towards these two groups because we recognise the contributions they have made, and will continue to make towards the progress of our country,” TCRS Restaurants managing director and founder Gaik Wong said.
“It is our hope that this initiative will provide greater value to these two groups when they patronise The Chicken Rice Shop.
“We believe that value is all the more important to these segments, especially during these economically challenging times,” she added.
The chain is also actively offering employment to all Malaysian workers who have been displaced as a result of the economic slowdown.
“We are looking to fill 200 positions at our restaurants throughout Malaysia, from customer service to food preparation.
“The offer is also open to all able senior citizens,” Wong said. The Chicken Rice Shop has 50 outlets nationwide.
