BENTONG: A total of 18,165 individuals had been slapped with fines amounting to RM2.8mil last year for failing to prevent their premises from becoming a mosquito breeding ground. Health Minister Datuk Liow Tiong Lai said out of the total, 795 of them had been taken to court for further action.
He said the premises include private homes, business outlets and construction sites.
