PEKAN: Four prominent personalities in the business sector received the Datuk Seri award at Istana Abu Bakar here recently during the second instalment of Pahang’s investiture ceremony.
They were CIMB Group chief executive Datuk Mohamed Nazir Tun Abdul Razak, Air Asia Bhd chief executive officer Datuk Anthony Francis Fernandes, TM International Bhd chief executive officer Datuk Jamaludin Ibrahim and Tesco Stores (M) Sdn Bhd advisory board chairman Datuk Mohamed Abid.
The four, who were bestowed the Sri Sultan Ahmad Shah Pahang (SSAP), were among 189 recipients who attended the ceremony held in conjunction with Sultan Pahang Sultan Ahmad Shah’s 78th birthday.
Tengku Mahkota Tengku Abdullah Sultan Ahmad Shah and his consort Tengku Puan Tunku Azizah Aminah Maimunah Iskandariah Sultan Iskandar were present to give away the awards.
Mentri Besar Datuk Seri Adnan Yaakob, state exco member Datuk Mohd Sharkar Shamsuddin, state assemblymen Datuk Pang Tsu Ming, Chang Hong Seong and other dignitaries were present to witness the ceremony.
Among the five recipients of the Darjah Sultan Ahmad Shah Pahang (DSAP) which carries the title Datuk were International Islamic University breast centre director Prof Dr Humairah Abdul Samad and ING Funds Bhd chief executive officer Steve Ong.
A total of 42 people received the Darjah Indera Mahkota Pahang (DIMP) which also carries the title Datuk.
Among them were Sabah and Sarawak High Court judge Datuk Abdul Aziz Abdul Rahim, Land and Mines Department director-general Abdul Halim Ain and Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission head of laws and prosecution Abdul Razak Musa.
Pahang CID chief Asst Comm T. Narenasagaran was among the 10 recipients of the Setia Ahmad Shah Pahang (SAP).
The Star’s Pahang correspondent Simon Khoo received the Ahli Ahmad Shah Pahang (AAP) award while Makkal Osai senior journalist S. Nandan Cumaran the Pingat Kelakuan Terpuji (PKT) award.
