MALACCA: Malacca is set to become a producer of high-grade agarwood resin, used in the manufacture of fragrant oils, with large-scale cultivation of the karas tree.
The state’s Economic Planning Unit (UPEN) director Datuk Zainal Hussin said the trees were being cultivated on 68ha in the vicinity of Jus Dam in Jasin at a cost of RM1.2mil.
