The North Malay Newspaper Distributors Association has urged the police to conduct more patrols, especially in the wee hours, for the safety of newspaper vendors.
Its chairman Tan Keng Tong said the number of robbery cases in the northern region, where the members were attacked and robbed while delivering newspapers, had increased tremendously.
