Stars turn out to inspire budding shuttlers

BADMINTON stars, past and present, turned up to add excitement and inspire the budding shuttlers at the closing ceremony of the third MSSKL-Bakti-DBKL-Milo Junior Open Badminton Championships at the Kuala Lumpur Badminton Association (KLBA) Stadium in Cheras recently.

The champions and runners-up from the Under-Eight to Under-11 age groups were given the privilege of taking on two-time men’s singles (1987 and 1989) world champion Yang Yang, current world number one men’s singles and Olympic silver medallist Lee Chong Wei and national doubles ace Tan Boon Heong in a brief sparring session.
