Interceptor boats to curb encroaching vessels

BINTULU: The Malaysian Maritime Enforcement Agency (MMEA) will take delivery of several interceptor boats by the middle of next year, said its director-general Admiral Datuk Mohd Amdan Kurish.

This would enable the agency to step up operations against foreign fishing vessels which encroached into Sarawak waters, which topped the number of cases handled by the agency, he told reporters after opening the MMEA Bintulu office here.
