AS ELECTION campaigning picks up in New Zealand, the man hoping to become the next Prime Minister has issued a stern message to violent criminals.
National Party leader John Key says, under a government led by him, “life means life” for convicted murderers and there will be no parole for criminals found guilty a second time of any violent offence attracting a prison sentence of more than five years.
