IT WAS an enjoyable and unforgettableexperience for 280children when they were givenan opportunity to learn fire safetyin the Fire Kids Club Workshop ata shopping mall recently.

The Fire Kids Club Workshop was sponsored by ACE Synergy Insurance Berhad (ACE Mal-aysia) and jointly organised by the Malaysian Volunteers Fire and Rescue Association (MVFRA) and The Weld in Kuala Lumpur.

The workshop was aimed at educating the children on fire safety and to learn how to escape in the event of a fire.

Children aged between five and 11 years were trained and taught various techniques on survival and fire prevention and had the opportunity to be fire fighters for a day.

The children also had the thrill of riding in a fire engine truck with blaring sirens.

Seeing the need to also educate less fortunate children, ACE Malaysia sponsored 54 children from two children’s homes – Yayasan Sunbeams and Rumah Titian Kaseh.

“We are proud to be a part of their efforts in this event and hope that today’s workshop will help to raise public awareness.

“We also hope that the workshop will encourage more parents to register their children for this important exercise in the future,” he said.
