Students help find solutions to natural hazards


KUANTAN: Ten engineering students pursuing their doctorates at Mandalay University, Myanmar, are among participants of an international conference on civil engineering aimed to get more information to form solutions to help their fellow countrymen affected by the recent Cyclone Nargis.

One of them, Kyi Pyar Shwe, 26, who is doing her doctorate study on water resource, said although Mandalay was about 800km from where the cyclone hit Myanmar, she was sad because of the massive destruction.
