Freed of killing stepdaughter

KOTA BARU: A former market trader has been acquitted of murdering his 14-month-old step-daughter at his home in Taman Desa Rahmat in Kubang Kerian five years ago. The Court of Appeal in Kuala Lumpur, which found that the prosecution had failed to prove a prima facie case, overturned the Kota Baru High Court’s decision on Nov 12, 2005, which found Zulazri Salleh, 29, guilty of murdering Nunazrie Sahreeza Sahrul Ramadan by slamming her against a wall.

Zulazri was charged on Jan 26, 2003, with committing murder by slamming his stepchild’s head against the wall because he was disturbed by her constant cries.
