“As such, it is with great pleasure that the Guinness brand is hosting St Patrick’s Day celebrations in Malaysia for the second time running,” Guinness Anchor Bhd marketing director Mark Jenner said.

The festival started off in Ireland many centuries ago and is today the world’s biggest Irish cultural celebration. In many nations across Europe, United States and even Asia, the festival has become a celebration of music, food, fun and laughter.

With its rich Irish heritage dating back 250 years, Guinness has become synonymous with St Patrick’s Day celebrations all over the world.

With food being a big part of the festival, celebrity chef Emmanuel Stroobant, better known as the ‘Chef in Black’ after his eponymous TV programme, was present to demonstrate a recipe featuring the celebrated Irish brew as a key ingredient.

Stroobrant demonstrated the versatility of Guinness not just as a beverage, but also a key ingredient in a number of dishes.

“Guinness Draught has such a rich and distinctive flavour that it goes well with almost anything, although my personal favourite is rack of lamb glazed with some Guinness,” he said.

Throughout March, six bars and pubs in the Klang Valley will be giving consumers the chance to enjoy Guinness Draught infused cuisine.

The outlets are Bossa Nova, Bulldog, Delaney’s, Jarrod & Rawlins, Nikko Hotel and Sevenatenine. Customers will also get to redeem limited edition Guinness St Patrick’s Day merchandise when they order the draught at the outlets. The finale will be held at Plaza Mont Kiara on March 15.
