A total RM15,000 is up for grabs in a fishing competition that is organised by the Kuala Lumpur City Hall (DBKL) with the Association of Statutory Bodies of Malaysia, at Taman Tasik Titiwangsa tomorrow.
The fishing competition, organised in conjunction with the City Day celebrations, is open to all and will begin at 8am. The participant with the heaviest catch will be declared as the champion.
DBKL director general Datuk Salleh Yusup said the annual fishing competition received tremendous support in terms of participation.
“Some participants come with their families early and set up tents by the lake. So, it's interesting because it becomes a family event.
“While the parents are busy involved in the competition, the children can enjoy themselves at the playground,” said Salleh after releasing fishes worth RM3, 000 into the lake.
Batu branch City Hall office manager Idzawi Raja Ismail was also present. The organisers are expecting about 1,500 participants to the four-hour fishing competition.
Entry fee is RM30 per person and registration forms are available at the Batu branch City Hall office, Sentul Raya Boulevard, Association of Statutory Bodies of Malaysia and the Boat House in Taman Tasik Titiwangsa.
