KOTA PERMAI GOLF & COUNTRYCLUB (KPGCC) remainedas the golfers’ choice in theGolf Malaysia magazine readerspoll on golf courses nationwide forthe 2007/2008 season.
After accomplishing a similar feat in the previous edition, KPGCC won the approval of 2,316 voters who took part in the survey and secured the top award as the best course in the country.
KPGCC retained the top billing with 41% of the votes ahead of Clearwater Sanctuary Golf Resort and Staffield Country Resort in second (37%) and third (31.5%), respectively, in the Top 20 Best Courses in Malaysia category.
Gamuda Land club operations group general manager Ding Meng Sieng received the recognition for KPGCC from Golf Malaysia publisher Juliana Cheah on Wednesday .
Ding gave credit to the staff of the club who put in a lot effort to ensure that golfers enjoy a pleasant outing on the course.
“Golfers have a good round of golf here because the course has been well maintained,” he said.
In addition, KPGCC also bagged the Best Maintained Golf Course.
Meanwhile, Nexus Golf Resort Karambunai emerged as the premier golf course in East Malaysia clinching the Top Ten Golf Courses in East Malaysia and Best Resort Course categories.
And Kelab Golf Perkhimatan Awam was regarded as most tricky green winning the Most Difficult Golf Course with its sixth hole on the Hills course also regarded as the Most Difficult Hole.
Other awards included Most Memorable Golf Course, Best Private Member Club, Best Nine Hole Club, Most Scenic Golf Course, Most Scenic Golf Hole, Best Clubhouse/Facilities and Best Customers Service Club.
Following the award presentation ceremony, the guests from the golf fraternity were treated to lunch and a round of golf at KPGCC.
