Romance of imperial China beckons shoppers at Suria KLCC

STEP into Suria KLCC, and onewill immediately be transportedback in time to thedays of imperial China.

Part of the mall's Chinese New Year celebration that runs until Feb 8, the Imperial Courtyard at the centre court will evoke a sense of nostalgia the romance of yester-year with its grand display of a pagoda, plum blossoms and huge hanging lanterns.

To help set visitors in the mood to welcome the Year of the Rat, sweet strains from classical Chinese instruments like the yang qing, guzheng, erhu and pipa will be heard in the mall. Adding to the merriment will be a 24 Seasons Drum performance on Feb 2 and an Acrobatic Lion Dance show on Jan 26 and Feb 7.

The mall is also having a special Chinese New Year promotion for shoppers. Customers can redeem festive red packets when they spend RM100 and above in a single receipt, while those who spend RM500 and above in a single receipt or accumulated receipts will be entitled to an exclusive chopstick set.

Suria KLCC development marketing and communication senior manager Zurinah Hassan said they believed in creating something special and memorable for shop-pers during festive seasons.

Up so high: Huge hanging lanterns in the centre court area add tothe festive atmosphere.

“We strive to provide a more refreshing and enriching retail experience. We hope that with this festive atmosphere, they will enjoy shopping while immersing themselves in the culture,” said Zurinah.
