THERE is something extraordinary happening at Island Plaza every day over the Chinese New Year period.

Watch a mask changing performance (Jan 26) with the master deftly switching masks in split seconds or the appearance of a jolly Laughing Buddha (Jan 27 and Feb 6) spreading festive cheer.

Mask changing is considered one of China’s most exclusive performing arts with the skills taught to only a select few.

The Laughing Buddha on the other hand is well known as a deity of contentment and abundance with his large exposed pot belly symbolising happiness, good luck and plenitude.

Others must-see activities include the 24 Season Chinese drum performance (Feb 2 and 10), God of Prosperity appearance (Feb 3), acrobatic lion dance (Feb 9) and ‘Lion Blesses the Mall’ (Feb 13).

The Island Plaza management would like to stress that all information is correct at the time of print and is subject to change without prior notice. Further enquiries, please drop by the Information Counter on the ground floor.

With the theme Spring Blossom @ Island Plaza, the celebration is a fiesta like no other with over 30 days of games, activities and promotions from now until Feb 17.

Welcome the Year of the Rat in style with the Spring Blossom Gift with Purchase promotion valid until Feb 3. Take home a beautiful flower vase free when you spend RM200 and above in a maximum of three sameday combined receipts.

Another exciting event is the Spring Blossom Treats (Feb 5 to 17). The cherry blossom tree located on the ground floor has a secret surprise for shoppers.

Purchases of RM150 and above in a maximum of three same-day combined receipts will earn you the chance to pick an ang pow from the tree.

Shoppers stand to win prizes ranging from tenant vouchers, products and sweet treats.

Shoppers are assured of ample parking space with the rate before 5pm being RM1 for the first hour and RM1 for every subsequent hour thereof while it is RM2 per entry after 5pm.

Island Plaza is certainly the place to be for all your Chinese New Year needs.
