Women entrepreneurs

Malay Chambers of Commerce Wanita wing, DeWanita, will hold a one day seminar entitled Preparations for Challenges and Opportunities in Entrepreneurship at the Lembaga Kebajikan Perempuan Islam Malaysia (LKPIM) hall in Jalan Teluk Sisek, Kuantan, tomorrow. It will start at 8am. Registration fee is RM30 per person which covers light refreshment, seminar items and certificate. Places are limited. Judo classes

Pahang Judo Association at Jalan Datuk Wong Ah Jang, Kuantan, (1st floor of AAM office) offers judo classes from 8.30pm to 11pm every Sunday and Wednesday and Aikido classes on Monday and Tuesday from 8.30pm to 10.30pm. Fees are RM40 a month. For details, contact Khoo at 016-921 8899.

Management meet

The 2nd International Information Management Conference will be held from Feb 25-27 at Hilton Kuching. Hosted by Stratfos Consulting Sdn Bhd, it is themed “Managing Your Documents and Records” and will feature speakers from the Canadian Government. Registration fee is RM2,400 per person. Talk on Tibet

Those interested in visiting Tibet can attend a talk by Japan Graduates Association Malaysia vice-president Datuk Siow Kuang Ling at the ground floor of the Johor Baru Tiong Hua Association building in Tebrau on Jan 27 at 2pm. There will also be an exhibition featuring Siow's trip to Tibet from Jan 27 to Feb 3 at the same venue.

Eating oranges

Skudai Parade Johor Baru will hold an orange-eating competition on Feb 2 between 2pm and 3pm. Contestants who peel and eat the mandarin oranges in the shortest time stand to win attractive prizes. Contestants should be above 12 years in age. Call 07-558 8996 for more information.

Lucky draw

Skudai Parade Johor Baru will hold a Chinese New Year lucky draw on Jan 27 between 2pm and 3pm at Level 1 of the mall. The lucky draw is open to shoppers who spend RM100 or more in a single receipt at any of the mall's outlets. There is RM8,000 worth of attractive prizes up for grabs.
