Residents want the death knell on project

THE local draft plan as part of the state's development strategy is in full swing but more than 90 percent of people from five residential areas in Puchong have gone on a signature campaign to raise objections against the Subang Jaya Municipal Council's (MPSJ) plan to turn their neighbouring forest reserve into a cemetery.

The move to turn the Air Hitam Forest Reserve into a 21ha cemetery was first proposed in 2004 but was met with fierce objections from residents of Saujana Puchong who were not aware of the project when they bought their houses.
