PENANG: While the New Year celebration was a time to rejoice, the party was soon over for 26 youngsters who spent the early hours of 2008 in the police lockup after creating havoc at the countdown celebration.
The revellers, aged between 15 and 21, were arrested when they turned rowdy at Gurney Drive and the Esplanade around midnight, getting involved in fights and spraying vehicles with artificial snow.
