IN an effort to raise public awareness on childhood cancer, the Malaysian Franchise Association (MFA) is organising the first Franchise Walk Hunt (FWH) 2007 from Merdeka Square to Berjaya Time Square on December 15.

Participation fees from FWH2007 will be channelled to those in need via the Pertubuhan Kanser Kanak-Kanak Malaysia (Pekasa).

FWH2007 organising committee chairman Mohamad Shukri Salleh said the programme was aimed at spreading public awareness on childhood cancer.

“We anticipate about 250 teams taking part in this event and so far we have about 30 per cent of entries.

“This is also a great opportunity for us to share with members and non-members about franchising,”

He added that MFA hopes that the event will be a success. Among the activities planned at the FWH2007 are treasure hunt, mini carnival, franchise briefing, franchiseaerobics, artist performances and games.

Organisers would also be looking for the most creative team name, most fancy dressed team, largest corporate and student group, special media category and oldest and youngest participants.

Five main prizes, 20 consolation and 100 lucky draws will be given away at the hunt. Cash prizes worth up to RM58,888 are up for grabs.

FWH2007 is open to the public aged 12 years and above. For those interested, online registration can be made before Dec 12.

Participations fees are RM120 per group for students, RM200 per group for MFA members and RM240 per group for non-members. Each group must consist of a maximum of four people.
