ONE hundred inmates of six charitable centres are among the lucky ones who will be able to watch Chicago The Musical, now being staged at the Plenary Hall of the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre.
Thanks to free tickets given by CIMB Bank, the exclusive presenter of the show. the inmates can enjoy the award-winning smash hit musical, staged in this region for the first time.
The six organisations given free tickets by the bank are Rumah Charis, Hospis Malaysia, eHomemakers, Salvation Army Joyhaven Home for the Elderly, Ampang Old Folks Home and the Phyllis Caring Home. These NGOs are devoted to helping senior citizens, abused women, single mothers and cancer patients.
We are happy to do our part for society. It is a great privilege for us to be able to bring cheer to the less fortunate, CIMB group corporate communications head Effendy Shahul Hamid said.
The famously bold and edgy musical by John Kander, Fred Ebb and Bob Fosse holds the record for being Broadways longest running musical revival. The story is about Roxie Hart and Velma Kelly as they race against the clock and each other for fame and freedom.
