Disabled kids treated to shopping trip at USJ mall

ABOUT 200 disabled children from Selangorwere taken on a Hari Raya shopping trip toMydin Mall in USJ recently. 

Baju melayu, songkok, kuih raya andschool equipment were picked out for thechildren, who were from various parts of thestate. They also received RM100 each as duitraya. 

The shopping trip was organised bySelangor Wives and Welfare Body (Balkis)and Gabungan Wawasan Generasi Felda(GWGF) as part of efforts to share the festivecheer with the less fortunate.

In his speech, Selangor Mentri Besar,Datuk Seri Dr Mohamad Khir Toyo congratulatedthe organisers for their efforts andurged other corporate companies to followthe move. 

“This kind of activities will leave a positiveeffect on these children and hopefully it willhelp them to lead a better life despite theirdisabilities,” he said. 

He also contributions for the needy shouldnot be done during festive season but shouldbe made an ongoing efforts. 

Meanwhile Balkis president Datin SeriZaharah Kechik, who is also the MentriBesar's wife, reminded parents to provide thebest care for their children, especially thosewith disabilities. 

“Everybody has their own challenges andjust as the able bodied have our own set ofchallenges, these special people have theirs. 

“Instead of lamenting on their fate, weshould find the best ways to deal with suchchallenges. 

“These children have been entrusted to usby God and we have to provide for them thebest way we can,” she said. 

Also present during the event were GWGFchairman Tan Sri Rozali Ismail and Mydinmanaging director Datuk Ameer Ali Mydin.
