THE independence gained by the country 50 years ago meant that its citizens are allowed to do anything they like but they must be confined within the framework of the law, said Taiping Prison director Tan Tian Heng.
“The country’s independence en-ables us to have the freedom to do anything but not by breaking the law,” he said when addressing about 1,000 inmates at the Taiping Prison during the 50th National Day ce-lebration recently.
