Up and away: Lee doing the necessary at the Jom Kibar campaign.

MYDIN gave 2,800 Malaysian flags to the Subang Jaya Municipal Council as part of its contribution to the fly the national flag campaign initiated by the council.

The flags were given away to the 28 representatives from all the zones in Subang Jaya. They all received 100 each during a brief ceremony held at the supermarket.

The event was launched by Subang Jaya assemblyman Datuk Lee Hwa Beng together with the council president Adenan Md Ikhsan and Mydin Mohamed Holdings Berhad managing director Ameer Ali Mydin.

Lee who commended Mydin for their support said that the supermarket also sold the flag at an affordable price of RM5.99 each so that people from all walks of life can get involved.

He said the council expected each of the 130,000 properties in Subang Jaya, Puchong and Seri Kembangan to be hoisted with the national flag in line with the ``Jom Kibar’’ campaign.

“Mydin also contributed a plasma television for the hoist and win contest that is organised by MPSJ to encourage residents to put up the flags in front of their homes.

“MPSJ is working hard to find sponsors in order to make up a total of 50 solid prizes for the winners,’’ he added

The residents, Lee said, were required to SMS their names and addresses after putting up the flags or bunting measuring 4x6ft and 2x6ft respectively.

He added that the SMS should be directed to kibarnamaaddress and sent to 33321.
