FEARING that Penang may lose its agriculture land to other forms of development, a farmers’ organisation has urged the state government to gazette such land solely for agricultural purposes.
Lahar Bubu Area Farmers Orga-nisation (PPK) chairman Datuk Jamaludin Omar said action must be taken to protect such land if agriculture was to be one of the country’s engines of economic growth.
