An insight into Latin America

EXPERIENCE the cultural beat of Latin America at the first ever Latin American Festival in Kuala Lumpur on Sunday.  

The event, organised by the Latin American Ladies Association in Malaysia, is also supported by the embassies of Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Cuba, Peru, Uruguay and Venezuela.

It will be held at Qba Bar in Westin Kuala Lumpur from 11am to 3pm where guests will be exposed to Latin American music, food, dances and handicraft.  

Proceeds from the festival will be donated to various charity programmes in Malaysia sponsored by the association.

Cuban ambassador to Malaysia, Pedro Monzon Barata, said people were curious to know more about the continent and its diverse culture.  

“During the festival, each country will showcase its handicraft as well as provide detailed tourism information,” said Barata during a press conference at Qba recently.  

He also said the festival was a good opportunity for the Latin American community in Kuala Lumpur to get together and celebrate their culture.  

Ambassadors and representatives from various Latin American embassies in Malaysia were also present at the press conference.
