THE Penang Chinese Chamber of Commerce (PCCC) will hold a seminar for experts to share their views with the public on the Malaysian economic outlook and the share market on March 9.
The seminar will be divided into two sessions – ”How Real is the Economic Recovery” and “Kuala Lumpur Composite Index (KLCI) 2000-2010.”
CIMB Securities (Research) economics head Lee Heng Guie will be the speaker of the first session and CIMB private client ser- vices head Yeoh Keat Seng in the second.
PCCC president Datuk Khor Teng Tong said the seminar was part of the chamber’s effort to create public awareness on the country’s economy and share market trend.
He said Lee would give the public a “clearer” view of the overall Malaysian economy while Yeoh would provide analysis of the share market trading for a decade from 2000.
“Yeoh will give advice to investors on how they can benefit by locking their investments in the right counters at the right time,” he told a press conference in Penang recently.
Khor said many factors affect the share market movement, including the stability of the United States and China.
“We hope the speakers will share with us the internal and external factors that will have strong impact on the Bursa Saham Kuala Lum-pur,” he said.
The seminar will be held at Cititel Penang (Perdana I) from 7pm to 10pm. Members would be charged RM20 while non-members, RM30.
Seats are limited to 300 people on “first come, first-served basis. Closing date for registration is March 7.
