KOTA KINABALU: A total of 1,744 families in Sabah have been selected to participate in the Amanah Saham Bumiputera (ASB) Sejahtera programme, which aims to bring them out of the shackles of poverty.
The programme, implemented under the Rural and Regional Development Ministry in collaboration with the Sabah Rural Development Ministry, is one of the measures to eradicate hardcore poverty in the state by 2010.
