Penang Hindu Endowment Board commissioner P.K. Subbaiyah said earthworks for the new temple buil-ding, which began on Feb 3 last year, had been completed.
He said construction of the building, which will be situated on 1.6ha site on the peak of the hill about 100m above the present temple, was scheduled to start right after Thai-pusam and be completed in 2009.
